Beach
Prisms were created in the late 80's as a means to protect
shorelines from beach erosion. This new beach
erosion solution consists of precast concrete
prisms (creating a breakwater), measuring 3 to
4 feet in height and 10 feet in length. Its triangular
slotted design creates stability and durability, that
has been proven to withstand hurricanes.
After
18 years of product testing and improvement of the design,
Beach Prisms were reintroduced to the market for sale
and installation. The improved product redesign functions
in the same manner as the original. In order to make
it more affordable for the customer, the product was
changed to be produced in one piece instead of multiple
pieces, which were then bolted together.
A special
piece of equipment is required for Beach prism installation
such as a marsh buggy / swamp buggy which is able to
move about on dry land, shallow mud, sand, and shallow
water. Here are some examples of our marsh buggies.

The
following pictures illustrate the importance of using
marsh buggies when installing beach prisms. It would
eliminate having to use a floating dock.
